Charles Haynes, senior scholar of the First Amendment Center, discusses a new report, “The Future of Religious Freedom in America.” The report summarizes an October 2005 conference sponsored by the McCormick Tribune Freedom Museum in collaboration with the First Amendment Center.

Haynes tells First Amendment Center Executive Director Gene Policinski that the conference brought together about 40 leading voices on religious freedom in the United States. Considering challenges facing religious liberty in the nation, the participants tried to answer the question, “What do we need to do to preserve religious freedom for everyone?”
