The San Francisco Chronicle reports that a photojournalist arrested during a violent protest at UC Berkeley in 2009 will receive a $162,500 settlement in his lawsuit against the university.

The photographer for the media outlet Indybay, David Morse, sued on claims that his photos were illegally seized during his wrongful arrest.

As part of the settlement, in which the university admits no liability, UC Berkeley police will alter their practices and provide training for officers in dealing with journalists.
