Twitter users again lose court bid to keep lid on account info

Monday, January 9, 2012

Wired reported that a federal judge ruled last week that the government can pursue the Twitter account records of three WikiLeaks supporters.

The three Twitter users — Rop Gonggrijp, Birgitta Jonsdottir and Jacob Applebaum — had asked the court to stay an earlier court order directing Twitter to disclose the records. On Jan. 4, U.S. District Judge Liam O’Grady rejected the users’ motion, finding the three were unlikely to prevail on appeal.
