Fox News reports that honors student Dakota Ary was sent to the principal’s office and given a suspension for telling a friend in class that “being a homosexual is wrong.”

Ary was in German class Sept. 20 at Western Hills High School when the teacher began discussing religion and homosexuality in Germany. Turning to a classmate, Ary said he was a Christian and opposed same-sex relations as morally wrong.

“It wasn’t directed to anyone except my friend who was sitting behind me,” Ary told Fox News Radio. “[The teacher] started yelling. He told me he was going to write me an infraction and send me to the office.”

Ary received one day of in-school suspension and a two-day full suspension. The two-day suspension was lifted after intervention by an attorney for Liberty Counsel, a religious-freedom advocacy group.
