Internships

The First Amendment Center offers internship opportunities throughout the year.

The center, with offices in Nashville, Tenn., is a nonpartisan organization that supports the First Amendment and builds understanding of its core freedoms through education, information and entertainment. The First Amendment Center serves as a forum for the study and exploration of free-expression issues, including freedom of speech, of the press and of religion, and the rights to assemble and to petition the government.

The First Amendment Center’s internship program is open to college, graduate and law students and offers on-the-job learning opportunities in various departments, including research, website and events management. Applicants should have interests in the First Amendment,  First Amendment law, news media, government policy and/or event planning. All internships are unpaid. No housing allowance is provided. The center will work with universities if interns are seeking course credit for their internships.
