Federal court orders unmasking of Wikipedia poster

Monday, June 6, 2011

Public Citizen has posted a story about a case in which a federal court has ordered the unmasking of a Wikipedia user. Public Citizen says the judge “turned his back on ten years of precedent protecting anonymous Internet speech to hold that a Wikipedia user who inserted strong criticisms of a fashion company could be identified based only on the unsworn say-so of a company vice-president who claimed vaguely that the Wikipedia entries were false.”
