Where senators stand on flag amendment

This chart shows an unofficial count of where the 100 U.S. senators stand on a law to pass a constitutional amendment that would give Congress the right to ban flag desecration. Sixty senators have co-sponsored such a bill or voted for it or both. Twenty-eight voted against a flag-amendment bill in 2000. The position of 12 senators is unknown.
